Founder's Diary #7 - Reflective Bikinis?

One thing about me is imma do what I wanna do. I’ve never been the type to follow trends or to not do something because others weren’t. For some reason my curiosity has always triumphed any care I had for peoples perception of me. 

It started with my first order of leggings and after getting good feedback from the ladies I decided I needed something new and eye catching going into the summer to really get the momentum of Veii rolling. So my next product I released was reflective women’s bikinis. I knew that women would be waiting in line for these things and that they were so pleasing to the eyes. My further hypothesis was that all the men who saw these women in the reflective bikinis would then want to inquire about Veii and then upon finding out that eventually we planned on making men’s apparel they would then wait to become future customers. Looking back this rationale was probably single-handedly my dumbest idea ever but I was confident and determined.

So I ordered the bikinis, begged my friend Kathryn to ask her mom to let me use her hot tub for a “seductive and sexy photoshoot”,  and convinced a few beautiful ladies I knew to model the bikinis. The shoot was amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. My former high school wrestling Coach turned photographer Steven Blanco did an amazing job bringing my vision to life and I knew that jaws would drop once we released the sets.

That whole summer of 2019 was one for the books! The bikinis were a hit and as I predicted…the ladies loved them. In my head I felt like the magic man because almost everyday I was able to repost women wearing them on my story and the same guys who were cracking jokes about leggings were now revering me as messiah for my wonderful creation. This was a big confidence boost for me and would be the fuel I needed to launch our next product which were the same material as the bikinis but in hoodie form for men
